Dew Cap

(for a Newtonian?)

When configured as a Newtonian, to reduce scattered light to the CCD camera, a tube extension was built. It was a frame work structure that was wrapped with fiberglass.

The dewcap fit on the end of the tube and was light weight. It was painted black inside, light blue outside. It was removed for storage of the telescope as it did not fit into the roll off shed with the cap on. Dew was been a problem with the filter slide and secondary. The dew cap helped that, too!

Now, it has a CCD camera at the prime focus and a longer total tube length.
